Fight Talk - Green vs Watts

Wednesday, July 20

Kane Watts has been gifted a great opportunity in this battle with Danny Green. Having previously commentated on Watt’s in Melbourne last November (as part of the Mundine v Hatley undercard), it was clear to see that he is not as polished as Green, although he fought with great passion. Watts throws wild punches which generate good force and this may be the unorthodox style that could make Green uncomfortable. Watts is on a run of 9 victories with 7 by KO.

This contest is a test Danny Green needs and wants. This will keep him active and attain his benchmark of reflexes, power, resistance and ring generalship. Watts will be super motivated as a victory will deliver a scalp Watts possible never thought he would get the opportunity to acquire. Danny Green’s accomplishments in boxing are vast and plentiful and the silver lining would be a much anticipated rematch with arch nemesis Anthony Mundine.

All eyes will be on Danny Green to ascertain what he can and can’t (still) do at the tail end of his career.

The fight will be full of action (while it lasts). I will be ringside in Melbourne calling this fight blow by blow and I look forward to your viewing pleasure, live on Main Event.
