Canelo vs Khan - By Ted Cofie

Saul Canelo Alvarez is the modern day Mexican James Dean. He is loved and revered in his country and is taking the boxing world by storm. He demands huge paydays and is already dictating what dates he wants to fight each year….. basically the TV companies work around him. The only criticism (globally) is his refusal to engage with GGG but that fight will surely arrive one day.

Canelo is bigger, stronger, has the promotional backing of Golden Boy and love from the Americas. It will almost be impossible for Khan to win on points even though Canelo will not want to leave it to the judges.

Amir King Khan has taken a bold step in accepting this challenge to fight for the WBC Middleweight title. Khan has held unified titles at Junior Welterweight and a Silver title at Welter but  suffers from massive delusions in stating that Floyd Mayweather retired to avoid fighting him.! Khan has been previously stomped by Bredis Presscot (1st round KO in 2008) and Danny Garcia (4th round KO in 2012) but Khan blamed those loses on weight reduction problems and a lack of focus. Khan possibly thinks he can emulate Mayweather’s master performance against Canelo in 2013!!! If Khan pulls this off I believe he will have caught Canelo on a bad night. However I don’t see it happening.

Canelo by 5th round KO.
